How I know I’m in Japan

When you’re in Japan, it’s the little things the remind you of just how different this country can be sometimes.

I’m at McDonalds – you have to go to McDonalds at least once every time you visit Japan – and I order my double cheeseburger with no pickles. After I get my order, there they are – pickles. I was a little surprised, but I shrugged it off and used a fry to exorcise the horrible things.

Without any prompting by me, a few minutes later one of the workers comes from behind the counter, tracks me down, says that they weren’t supposed to put pickles on my burger but did, apologizes, and offeres to remake my half-eaten sandwich. (An offer I politely declined.)

So yeah… Japan.

Yes whenever you go japan, you have to go to their MacDonalds. Love McPork and whatever funky burgers they have at the moment. I had Carbonara McChicken burger , it was fairly pleasant.
