Neurowear likes to call their robotic cat ears “necomimi”. I like to call them “the best thing ever created by the hands of mankind”.

So, the concept is basically this: robotic cat ears that automatically move based on your brainwaves. I was going to explain it more, but honestly—this text from the official site says it far more beautifully than I ever could.

People think that our body has limitation,
however just imagine if we have organs that doesn’t exist,
moreover we can control that new body?

We created new human’s organs that use brain wave sensor.

「necomimi」is the new communication tool
that augments human’s body and ability.

This cat’s ear shaped machine utilizes brain waves
and express your condition before you start talking.

Just put on 「necomimi」 and if you are concentrated on,
this cat’s ear shaped machine will rise.
When you are relaxed, your new ears lie down.

If concentration and relaxing time comes at the same time,
your new ears rise and move actively.
In general, professional sport players demonstrate their abilities most in this condition.

If people show their feeling even they don’t express,
what differences will be happened?
Interesting? Ashamed? Scared?

In the beginning, people may feel strange,
however people are getting accustomed to control their new ears by brain waves
if they keep using. At this moment, 「necomimi」can be part of your body.

Will you be able to buy them in America? If so, for about how much?

I haven’t seen any sold information yet on when they’ll be up for sale or even how much they’ll cost. Or, really, if they’ll even be on sale anytime soon. The might just be a kind of “prototype” thing for now. Would love to actually hear details on them being offered for sale, though.

they are planning to release them at the end of this year (count on a christmas like release date :P)

I’ve seen something similiar that uses brainwaves (a star wars game) and that one cost 80 dollars new… so I’m guessing this to be around 100 to 150 dollars or so…

(ps. you might wanna know, after this they are going to work on dog ears and bunny ears and maybe later on they’ll develop matching tails… for now that is out of reach cause it’s a bit complicated to find a way to connect the tail to your brainwaves and make you able to sit with it too…)

Anyways, seeing as it’s near the end of october, I’m really looking forward to it (eagereagereager XD)

I saw them at Tokyo Game Show when I went a few months ago, but at that point they still weren’t 100% sure when they would be launching. So, good to hear they’ve got a more official release date now!
