Why does it seem like I’m always so drawn to the female characters that Atlus produces?

Really, I think it’s a combination of things. Yes, of course, they’ve produced their fair share of attractive designs – from the cute to the beautiful to the stupidly sexy, as is the case with new Atlus bad girl Catherine (the inspiration for this very post). The thing is, though, typically their characters are far more than that. Unlike so many other game developers, they also put an equal amount of effort into making female characters that are as attractive from a standpoint of personality and depth as they are visually. It wasn’t so long ago that I proclaimed Persona 4‘s Chie to be one of the best new female characters from an RPG, if not one of the best ever.

Anyhow, that’s a topic for another time. I’m sure you’re less interested in reading me talk about all of that, and just want to get to the goods.
